Senior Project Interview


  1.  How was hip hop like for you growing up? " It was a major part of my life, I was a DJ who used to bboy and would listen to it first thing in the morning"
  2. What artist did you listen too? "Tribe Called Quest, Wu-tang Clan, Outcast, Common, Beastie Boys, TLC, etc.
  3. What negative aspects came from hip hop? " I can't think of anything negative. I don't think anything bad came out of hip hop."
  4. What good aspects came from hip hop? " It created great music and brought people together and clothing was loud ( meaning it had bright colors).
  5. How did Rap change it? "it was very negative, was very vulgar, and promoted gang violence."
  6. How di the media interpret dancing? "From what I recall, it was a hobby that kept kids off the streets."
  7. What was graffiti like in the 80's? "Most part it was destruction of property, but there was a difference between art work and tagging."
  8. Were you involved or contributed to hip hop? " Yes, I was a DJ and would bboy all the time. At your age i could spin on my hand forever because quit frankly it wasn't really hard for me"
  9. Why do you think breakdancing disappeared for so long? " culture change, it was probably a trend. It reappeared during the 90's but i think it had to do with the music coming out during that time."
